City and County of Honolulu, Hale Mauliola Transitional Housing, Greywater Treatment and Reuse

Under the direction of the City and County of Honolulu and in partnership with Container Storage Hawaii, REDI provided design-build services for a 5000-square foot greywater garden
for the City and County of Honolulu’s Hale Mauilola transitional housing community. The greywater garden will be using up to 2700 gallons per day of shower and lavatory water for irrigation of edible and tropical flowering plants. The goals for the greywater garden design were to reduce potable water use, reduce pumping and hauling costs for the wastewater and provide economic resources for the residences.
